SUMMARY The Channel Director, Social Media will lead the evolution and execution of Butler / Till’s Social Media offering, with a core focus on paid media strategy and performance. This senior-level role requires deep expertise in social media activation, AdTech, and performance marketing, paired with a strong understanding of how to translate insights into scalable, impactful solutions for clients and the agency. The Channel Director will drive operational excellence across campaign execution, champion innovative use of platforms and technologies, and elevate the agency’s presence as a thought leader in the space. As both a strategic and hands-on leader, this individual will play a critical role in refining processes, shaping best practices, and mentoring internal teams while collaborating cross-functionally to expand the scope and sophistication of Butler / Till’s social media capabilities. KEY OUTCOMES & RESPONSIBILITIES Key Outcome : Enforce performance excellence across paid social campaigns Key Responsibilities : Strategize, refine, and enforce processes that drive quality and precision in campaign execution. Develop, implement, and standardize optimization strategies, techniques, and workflows to maximize performance. Create best-in-class tactical plans for new and existing clients that align with industry best practices for paid social. Key Outcome : Increase the scope and sophistication of the agency’s social media capabilities Key Responsibilities : Identify and integrate new audience, data, and reporting partners into the existing tech stack, demonstrating measurable impact. Operationalize and promote advanced platform-specific strategies across major social platforms (e.g., Meta, TikTok, Reddit, Snapchat, LinkedIn, X [formerly Twitter], Pinterest, etc.). Establish and champion standardized processes for high-performing influencer marketing campaigns. Advance and refine measurement practices to enable comprehensive attribution and reporting of social campaign performance. Key Outcome : Provide thought leadership in social media Key Responsibilities : Serve as a public-facing subject matter expert by representing the agency at conferences, on panels, podcasts, in articles, and other industry-facing forums. Educate and consult with clients to communicate the value and strategic advantage of Butler / Till’s social media offerings. Lead internal knowledge sharing by regularly updating stakeholders on social media trends, platform changes, strategies, and best practices. Key Outcome : Engage, retain, and enable performance of talent Key Responsibilities : Contribute and proactively manage talent plans. Assess, hire, on-board, and grow role-appropriate talent. Manage a team; set clear, outcome-based performance goals. Establish and maintain development plans for each. Provide effective feedback that enables employees to improve and work toward goals, while seeking feedback from team to enable inclusion and continuous improvement. Remove barriers to enable team outcomes. Provide opportunities for growth and development, while mentoring and inspiring employees to unlock their full potential. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field 10+ years of experience in digital marketing, advertising, or media field 5+ years of leadership / supervisor experience Agency experience Significant experience with Paid Social campaign activation, including stewardship of budgets over $100k Experience with strategic tactical planning Experience in highly regulated industries preferred, such as Pharmaceuticals, Financial Services, Medical Insurance, Housing, Employment, Credit, or Political campaigns Experience with AdTech tools such Floodlights, Campaign Manager, Brand Safety, Google Analytics, Sprinklr, etc. Excellent verbal, written, and presenting skills PREFERRED Master’s degree in business, marketing, or related field. COMPENSATION Butler / Till is committed to providing pay transparency of our compensation philosophy and ensuring equitable pay practices for our employee owners. The compensation range for this position is $81,000 - $113,000 and represents the annual salary range in Rochester, NY. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. This is just one component of Butler / Till’s total compensation package for employee owners. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including ESOP (employee stock ownership plan), an annual bonus, in addition to a full benefits package, and paid time off benefits, including 100% paid parental leave.
