Electrician Position
Summary As an Electrician for the Marion VA Medical Center, Marion, IL within the Maintenance and Operations section of the Engineering Service. This position is responsible for the installation, modification, repair, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and loading of new and existing electrical lines, circuits, electrical distribution systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment.

Physical Requirements :
Incumbent works from ladders, scaffolding, and hydraulic platforms. Incumbent works in portions of the utility systems requiring attention that are cramped, dirty, and hard-to-reach locations. The work can involve prolonged crouching and standing and frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in exhausting and uncomfortable positions. Incumbent frequently lifts or carries tools, equipment, ladders, scaffoldings, parts, and supplies up to 50 pounds. Occasionally, the incumbent is required to lift and carry items over 50 pounds.

Requirements Conditions of Employment :

This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.
