APM Engineer / Application Performance Engineer / Hybrid in Charlotte, NC / Contract-to-Hire
About our Customer & Role :
Our direct customer, a global Fortune 500 company & a leader in the Food Services industry is looking for APM Engineer, who will be a prt of Application Monitoring team, working on the installation, configuration and monitoring of tools such as Dynatrace and Zabbix on AWS and On-Prem servers. They will be working closely with Application and Middleware teams on the analysis, prediction and research for health checks, logs and alerts. Application Performance engineers will be interacting with both Windows and Linux platform servers and improving the monitoring tools with applied scripting knowledge and querying SQL databases.
Responsibilities :
- Work with Application teams to define thresholds and configure alerts accordingly.
- Install, configure and maintain Dynatrace, Zabbix, Pager Duty and Alertbot tools.
- Experience with Dynatrace DQL , APIs and AIOPs implementation using Dynatrace
- Experience with Dynatrace Extensions and integrate them with Application monitoring.
- Daily Operations (Release management, Health checks, log analysis, alerts review)
- Work on Trend / Prediction Analysis configuration skills
- Work on the tuning and maintenance of system alerts
- Explore possible solutions withing the Zabbix, Dynatrace and Alertbot tools.
- Support and participate in incident calls and help to troubleshoot the issues.
- Experience with cloud watch and AWS resource monitoring.
- Help to support AWS ECS monitoring using Dynatrace.
- Upgrade Zabbix and Dynatrace frequently.
- Apply security patches to the monitoring infrastructure.
- Need to come up with solutions for custom monitoring for applications by building custom scripts.
- Experience with DB concepts, MicroServices and shell scripting.
- Experience with Azure DevOps tool to create and maintain PBIs.
- Plan and execute activities assigned by the team / manager.
- Monitor alerts and take appropriate actions.
- Update tickets on a regular basis and keep leadership informed of work status / progress.
- Independently manage assigned tasks and project components to complete within established timelines.
- Identify and communicate potential business impacts when planning changes to production systems.
- Participate with management and technical teams to establish appropriate project timelines to deliver sustainable solutions within approved time and budget parameters.
- Demonstrate attention to detail.
- Actively identify and communicate opportunities to automate repetitive manual processes.
Required Skills :
Expertise in Zabbix, Dynatrace, Alertbot and foglight toolsExperience with Cloud Watch and AWS toolsExperience with YAML , Shell ScriptingExperience in PowerShellExperience with backups, restores and recovery models.Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teamsExperience with administration of both the monitoring tools : Zabbix and DynatraceAt least 8 years of experience as Performance Engineer
