Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Acute Care, Med / Surg / Tele department, you will provide essential clinical direction and care in an inpatient setting focused on patient and family needs. Your expertise in the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and outcomes—will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care.
In this role, you will follow safety protocols, promote cost efficiency, and contribute to quality improvement efforts. It is important to align your patient care with the organization’s policies and regulatory requirements while actively participating in continuing education and professional development.
The acute inpatient environment may involve weekend, holiday, and on-call shifts.

Essential Functions

- Conduct thorough nursing assessments and document data accurately to recognize changes in patients' conditions.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to develop and update individualized care plans based on the patient's needs.
- Ensure clear communication and education around the discharge process to support a seamless transition to post-acute care.
- Deliver direct patient care aligned with clinical protocols and the established care plan.
- Monitor the quality of care delivered, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
- Evaluate and refine nursing practices, utilizing performance indicators and quality improvement strategies.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions and care plans using plain language.
- Serve as a patient advocate, coordinating care and communicating effectively with team members.
- Perform other responsibilities as required.
Minimum Requirements
Education - Associate’s degree in Nursing; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.Experience - Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a registered nurse.In Lieu Of
Successful completion of the Prisma Health Nurse Residency Program, or a comparable residency, is accepted in place of one year of RN experience.Internal candidates with one year of licensed practical nurse (LPN) experience may also qualify.Nursing diploma with licensure can be accepted in lieu of an Associate's degree in nursing.Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
Current RN compact / multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State or state-specific licensure in practice location.Work Shift
