Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : RN Specialty : Cardiac Progressive Care, CVICU, Cardiovascular Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Minimum 2 years of Critical Care experience License : Current RN license Certifications : Current BLS, Current ACLS Must-Have : EPIC charting experience Description : The Cardiovascular Unit is a 30-bed unit that provides medical, pre-operative, and post-operative surgical care to admitted patients. Patients generally classified as medium to high acuity are served in this unit. Patients admitted are stable but have a high potential of becoming unstable, presenting higher complexity and existing co-morbidities. A higher level of nursing care is required compared to general patient care units. The patient population served ranges from young adults to geriatric patients. Examples of patient diagnoses include cardiac conditions, pre / post cardiac artery bypass surgery, acute myocardial infarction, post pacemaker insertion, arrhythmia detection, and congestive heart failure. The patient-to-nurse ratio shall not exceed 1 : 4. Floating to other units, including medical / surgical, may be required.
