Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of acute hospital experience and a current IN state license for an inpatient rehab assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Inpatient rehab setting within an acute care hospital
  • Serve diverse patient acuity levels from ICU to progressive care units
  • Diagnoses include cardiac procedures, stroke, TBI, orthopedic and neurological cases, respiratory illnesses, dementia, MS, Parkinson's, and more
  • Work as part of a rehab team of 19 professionals
  • Day shift position, Monday through Friday with one weekend day per month
  • 5x8 hour shifts from 8 : 00 to 16 : 30
  • Floating within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals is required
  • Cerner charting system is used
  • Evaluate patients and develop and implement plans of care including ADL training, therapeutic exercises, and activities to improve function
  • Assess patient discharge recommendations on a daily basis
  • Work collaboratively within a large, multidisciplinary team
  • Scrub color is royal blue with black shoes required
  • Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • IN residents are considered local candidates for this allied position
  • Up to 5 days of non-holiday time off can be auto-approved; additional time requires facility approval
  • Former permanent or PRN employees must be separated for 12 months before consideration

    • Requirements

  • Active Occupational Therapist license in Indiana or compact state, license required if applicable
  • Current BLS certification is required
  • NBCOT certification is required
  • Minimum of 1 year OT experience in an acute hospital setting
  • 18 months of total therapy experience required
  • Manual Therapy and Lymphedema certifications preferred
  • Cerner EMR experience preferred
  • Completion of an ACEN or CCNE-accredited university program
