Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of acute hospital experience and a current IN state license for an inpatient rehab assignment.
Responsibilities
Inpatient rehab setting within an acute care hospitalServe diverse patient acuity levels from ICU to progressive care unitsDiagnoses include cardiac procedures, stroke, TBI, orthopedic and neurological cases, respiratory illnesses, dementia, MS, Parkinson's, and moreWork as part of a rehab team of 19 professionalsDay shift position, Monday through Friday with one weekend day per month5x8 hour shifts from 8 : 00 to 16 : 30Floating within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals is requiredCerner charting system is usedEvaluate patients and develop and implement plans of care including ADL training, therapeutic exercises, and activities to improve functionAssess patient discharge recommendations on a daily basisWork collaboratively within a large, multidisciplinary teamScrub color is royal blue with black shoes requiredCandidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidaysFirst-time travelers are acceptedIN residents are considered local candidates for this allied positionUp to 5 days of non-holiday time off can be auto-approved; additional time requires facility approvalFormer permanent or PRN employees must be separated for 12 months before considerationRequirements
Active Occupational Therapist license in Indiana or compact state, license required if applicableCurrent BLS certification is requiredNBCOT certification is requiredMinimum of 1 year OT experience in an acute hospital setting18 months of total therapy experience requiredManual Therapy and Lymphedema certifications preferredCerner EMR experience preferredCompletion of an ACEN or CCNE-accredited university programBenefits
