Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center is the largest in Wisconsin and provides innovative care with a dedicated 24 / 7 on-site heart-care team.
Schedule / Hours : Full-time evening shift, 8 or 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday with call responsibilities (5-8 call slots and 1-2 weekends possible in an 8-week schedule). Call requires arrival within 30 minutes.
Major Responsibilities :
Ensure a clean, safe, and efficient environment for optimal patient care, utilizing aseptic techniques.Prepare materials, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures, assisting as needed.Maintain the operating room's environmental disinfection, safety, and efficiency.Act as a Second Assistant when required.Notify staff of equipment and supply issues.Transport patients and supplies as needed.Maintain specialty carts, ensuring completeness and availability.Perform patient positioning and transporting duties while following proper techniques.Understand growth, development, and care needs of patients of all ages.Licensure, Registration, and / or Certification Required :
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association, obtained within 6 months unless exempt.Education Required :
Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.Experience Required :
No prior experience necessary.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :
Understanding of aseptic surgical techniques and operating room equipment.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Basic computer proficiency.Willingness to meet annual educational requirements for hospital-based certifications.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :
