SUMMARY
The Business Banking Specialist is responsible for maintaining and expanding client relationships while generating new business in alignment with branch and company goals. This role involves engaging with customers to deliver tailored financial solutions, supporting daily operations such as account services, teller transactions, and issue resolution, and contributing to team efforts for sales campaigns and overall service.
The ideal candidate combines financial expertise with strong communication and relationship-building skills. A proactive, sales-driven approach will be beneficial, as well as the ability to work in a dynamic, client-focused environment.
By driving growth, fostering customer loyalty, and collaborating with branch teams to promote sales initiatives, the Business Banking Specialist plays a vital role in advancing the company’s mission and strengthening its presence in the community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Call on current and prospective customers to promote new and additional business for the Bank and achieves specific calling program objectives in relation to loan, deposit and referral goals.
- Represent the company in the community by calling on major existing and prospective customers to develop new business, retain or expand existing relationships.
- Provide service to customers and prospective customers on various banking matters, including but not limited to the explanation of products and services and professional resolution of problems.
- Assist in proposing and recommending new products and services through identifiable needs obtained from customer contacts and comments.
- Work closely with the market’s Banking Center Managers, Deposit & Electronic Product Specialist, and Private Banking Coordinator in developing various pricing and promotional strategies designed to achieve the branch’s customer relationship objectives. Assist in the sales process and serve as a back-up.
- Analyze and evaluate business development potential and implement specific plans and strategies to profitably increase the branch’s market share.
- Assist with the promotion of a sales culture within the market and assist with appropriate staff training to develop their abilities to sell and cross-sell bank products and services. Proactively sell banking services.
- Provide frontline transactional support as needed.
- May accept consumer loan applications.
- Promote friendly relations with customers including local businesses, trade organizations and service clubs. Participate in community activities to increase the branch’s visibility and enhance new business opportunities.
- Assist in the maintenance of a detailed customer contact and prospect system.
- Develop and maintain an extensive knowledge of deposit products and electronic services.
- Participate in testing of new products and services to support continued customer growth and satisfaction.
- Assume responsibility for special projects and tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, a related field, or a commensurate combination of education and experience required.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
