Who you are

Metropolis is seeking an Assistant Controller to play a key leadership role in the execution of corporate accounting operations. The Assistant Controller is the executional builder — responsible for standing up core accounting processes, leading the close, and operationalizing the Controller’s vision. This role is about turning strategy into scalable processes.

What you’ll do

• Close Leadership : Own monthly / quarterly close activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and scalability.
• Process Build : Design and implement new policies, controls, and workflows (GAAP / IFRS, revenue recognition, consolidations).
• Systems & Tools : Drive automation / AI adoption in reconciliations, reporting, and consolidation.
• Talent Development : Build and mentor a growing accounting team, instilling accountability and high performance.
• Partnering : Work closely with cross-functional leads (Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Operations) to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $190,000.00 USD to $220,000.00 USD annually. The actual base salary offered is determined by a number of variables, including qualifications, experience, skills, education, and location. Base salary is one component of Metropolis’s total compensation package, which may also include healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, disability coverage, life insurance, stock options, bonus plans and more.
