Responsible for purchasing non-ferrous and ferrous scrap from retail customers and dealers in Illinois / Indiana.

Senior Scrap Metal Buyer Key Responsibilities

• Purchase scrap for a designated region.
• Maintain relationships with Departmental Managers and customers.
• Manage material flow between facilities and customers.
• Act as primary contact for assigned customers.
• Create bids and consult with leadership.
• Secure new material through site visits and calls.
• Develop customer lists and growth plans.
• Provide and follow up on quotes promptly.
• Respond to customer inquiries quickly.
• Submit weekly reports on activity and issues.
• Coordinate with Facility Managers and Transportation on logistics.
• Prepare and submit quotes for non-standard items.
