Description of Job
The Division of Capital Assets
The Division of Capital Assets (DCA) manages Capitol Complex Facilities Management (CCF) and State Fleet Management (SFM) which provide leased building space facility management building security and identification programs employee parking ceremonial flag requests and special event permits for the public vehicle call center short-term vehicle rentals (Motor Pool) and vehicle acquisition and lifecycle management.
Labor Trades and Crafts I
This position assists the Capitol Complex Management Team in managing and maintaining the operations of 18 state-owned buildings seven parking lots and one parking structure. This includes directing all functions of approximately 2 million square feet of state owned office space including the Executive Residence and 225 acres of landscape grounds. This position oversees the operations of the HVAC plumbing and electrical shops.
A summary of the duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following :
Oversight of Electrical Shop Operations
Oversight of HVAC and Plumbing Operations
Emergency Response

Labor Trades and Crafts I
Minimum Qualifications :
Experience Only :
Four (4) years of relevant experience in labor trades or crafts or an occupation related to the work assigned to this position two (2) of which must have been at the level of a unit supervisor or equivalent
The exceptional candidate will possess the proven ability or accomplishment in the following preferred qualifications :
Previous State Service related to the work assigned to the position
Should have a thorough working knowledge of but not limited to : Ground Source Heat Pump systems Variable Refrigerant Flow units Chillers and Compressor systems DDC Steam Heating systems.
Should have a thorough working knowledge of but not limited to : Emergency Generator Electrical systems that include Automatic Transfer Switches Variable Frequency Drives.
Should have a thorough working knowledge of but not limited to : Control Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) certifications with regards to EPA controlled refrigerants.
Should have a thorough working knowledge of but not limited to : Low voltage controls Security and Fire Alarm system maintenance and repairs
Conditions of Employment :
A pre-employment criminal background check will be conducted as part of the selection process.
Must be available for all shifts
Must have and maintain a valid Colorado Drivers License
Travel : Occasional visits to the Grand Junction State Services building
Comparative Analysis Process
The comparative analysis process for this position may consist of a structured application review and a structured interview.

Review of the completed signed and submitted appeal will be timely on the basis of written material submitted by you using the official appeal form signed by you or your representative. This form must be completed and delivered to the State Personnel Board by email at within ten (10) calendar days from your receipt of notice or acknowledgement of the Departments action.
