ABOUT MHY FAMILY SERVICES :

MHY Family Services (MHY) is over 140 years old and a non-profit organization that provides support and services through residential, educational and community-based programming all over Pennsylvania, primarily in Western PA. MHY strives to meet the changing needs of at-risk youth and their families through a practical and holistic approach to treatment. Youth and families have the opportunity to learn skills that help them manage and cope with trauma-based issues and to re-engage with home, school and community.

SUMMARY

Serves youth between the ages of 9-18 and their families with treatment and resources as set forth in the MST Psychiatric model. Affords in-home counseling and case management to youth and families involved in the juvenile justice system with the goals of preventing out of home placement. Collaborates closely with Therapists and other treatment team members. Must becapable of working closely with the courts, judges, schools,probation, children and youth services,hospitalsand other providersin collaboration with evidence-based outcomes; allin alignment with MHY goals and strategies. Must beable to work a flexible schedule, including evenings.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Childhood Education or related area required, with a minimum of one year prior experience working with families in community settings. Experience within the child protection or court systems strongly preferred, in addition to participation in interventions including community support systems and experience . Current PA state driver's license with an insurable driving record required. Must possess demonstrated PC skills including common MS Office applications. Additional training or licensing as required by regulations, or as deemed necessary by the Executive Director or Director.
