What you'll do

In this role you will shape Viasat L band systems future products and services, from concept, definition and analysis to test in a satellite communications environment. This will include shaping SATCOM systems and payload architectural design, including detailed planning of all system aspects (digital communications theory to simulations and scripting and integration and testing of the same). This is a great opportunity to collaborate across interdisciplinary teams including Business Development, Systems, Software, RF circuits, Test Engineering and others. You will also be developing and verifying algorithms and communications protocols for mobile platforms operating on the Global Mobile satellite network.

The day-to-day

You will work with a fast-paced development team to design, simulate, test and validate foundational aspects of several systems. You will help shape new programs to ensure technical development is properly focused based on customer and stakeholder requirements.

This position is located onsite. Viasat embraces a flexible work environment and onsite / hybrid work is determined by individual roles and teams. Relocation assistance is available pending eligibility.

As an Early Career hire, you will participate in our Graduate Development Program during your first 12+ months at Viasat. What you'll need

Requirements :

Education : Completion of Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering or related field

Experience : This role is intended for someone with 0-3 years of full-time, relevant industry experience

Additional :

Understanding of orbital mechanics

Experience performing systems analysis with analytical methods and / or simulation using tools like Matlab and / or Python

Knowledge of link budget analyses and / or satellite link design

Experience with Signal Processing / Communications

Salary range

$75,000.00 - $118,000.00 / annually.

For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $93,000.00- $140,000.00 / annually
