Schedule
Full-time; Monday through Friday, hours may vary. More details upon interview.Responsibilities
Perform the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) emergency generator testing requirements on diesel tanks.Record keeping of generator and fuel tank systems in accordance with NFPA and EPA requirements.Perform monthly and annual PMI on generator components including diesel and natural gas prime movers, automatic transfer switches, fuel systems, voltage regulators, cooling systems, exhaust, lubrication, battery systems, control panels, and main assemblies / frames.Perform minor repair and installation of ancillary generator components such as alternators, starters, pumps, ignition components, lines / hoses, exhaust components, and battery systems.Maintain and service related generator equipment to support campus facilities and operations.Qualifications
One year of related experience as a maintenance worker / technician in a similar-sized institution or in a grounds maintenance occupation.Valid Florida Driver's License may be required if motorized vehicles are operated.Completion of an approved generator training and certification program; or a high school diploma and four years of field experience. Appropriate vocational / technical training may substitute for the required experience.Working Conditions
Some exposure to high heat, noise, dust, dirt, and areas requiring infection control. Ability to meet deadlines and work all hours, including weekends and nights, as necessary to maintain facility safety and operation.Compensation & Benefits

Performs a variety of maintenance duties related to diesel-driven generator sets, generator control systems, and related equipment including turbochargers and fuel injection equipment. Essential duties and responsibilities include maintaining facilities, performing routine maintenance and repairs, updating work statuses, providing fleet maintenance support, responding to emergencies, maintaining logs and maintenance records, and assisting with minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and other tasks as needed.
