Senior SQL Server Performance Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities :

• Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve performance bottlenecks in SQL Server databases, deploying strategic tuning measures to significantly enhance efficiency.
• Expertly design, implement, and maintain robust database systems that not only meet but exceed performance, availability, and security requirements.
• Conduct thorough performance tuning and optimization efforts, expertly addressing slow queries and related issues to ensure peak database performance.
• Swiftly diagnose and resolve complex database issues, including data corruption and system failures, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
• Develop and implement comprehensive logging, monitoring, alerting, and automation solutions that enable rapid detection and resolution of production database challenges.
• Collaborate effectively with administrators, analysts, and developers to drive actionable business intelligence and troubleshoot performance hurdles, ensuring seamless operations.
• Advocate for and promote database best practices within engineering teams through active participation in code and architecture reviews.
• Leverage strong expertise in SQL Server, T-SQL, and related technologies to deliver exceptional database solutions.
• Showcase proven experience in SQL Server database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting, consistently achieving outstanding results.

• Implement and expertly manage Change Data Capture (CDC) processes to enable seamless real- time data integration and synchronization across databases.
• Collaborate with multiple project teams to refine database design and establish best practices for optimal performance.
• Empower developers by providing guidance in fine-tuning database access code, boosting overall application efficiency.
• Deliver critical support for production systems, quickly analyzing, resolving, and correcting issues with a commitment to end-to-end solutions.
• Identify and address database performance issues proactively, implementing effective corrective measures to ensure reliability.
• Execute periodic database maintenance, including reorganizing tables and rebuilding indexes, to maintain optimal performance.
• Streamline recurring database tasks through the automation of PowerShell scripts, scheduling them for efficient execution.
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of load testing, with the capability to design and implement robust database load testing using JMeter.
• Exhibit proven proficiency in managing production MS SQL environments on AWS, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Proven expertise in SQL Server 2022, expertly managed within the AWS environment. Demonstrated expertise in SQL Server 2022 hosted on AWS RDS.
