Unit Overview :
Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit , where you will care for a diverse and complex patient population, including :
Post-operative craniotomies for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resections.Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries.Hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke patients as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program .High volume of cervical and spinal surgery patients, along with medical overflow cases .As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) , our unit offers exposure to the latest neurosurgical techniques and cutting-edge care.

Deliver and coordinate comprehensive, evidence-based patient care using the nursing process.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, therapeutic, and compassionate care.Apply clinical judgment, communication, and critical thinking to support optimal outcomes.Contribute to a positive patient experience across the continuum of care.Why Join Us?

Use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care, involving patients and families at every step.Quickly recognize significant changes in patient condition and collaborate with the healthcare team to adjust care plans as needed.Implement strategies to reduce patient risk and enhance safety.Coordinate discharge planning utilizing an interdisciplinary approach.Evaluate patient and health team outcomes and take appropriate actions when necessary.Promote effective communication and collaboration among team members.Support a culture of safety by identifying and intervening against potential threats to patient health.Participate in initiatives aimed at improving patient care and departmental functions.Engage in professional development activities and pursue opportunities for growth.Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific care requirements.Licensure, Registration, and / or Certification Required :
Registered Nurse license in the practicing state.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.Education Required :
Completion of an accredited or approved Nursing program.Experience Required :
Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :
Ability to provide holistic patient care and respond to clinical situations effectively.Proficient in using computers, electronic medical records, and communication tools.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to build rapport and maintain professional relationships.Demonstrated decision-making and organizational skills.Able to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.Strong team collaboration and delegation capabilities.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :
