Director Of National & Homeland Security's Critical Infrastructure Security And Resilience Division

Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) National & Homeland Security (N&HS) Directorate is seeking an experienced technical professional with a track record of successful leadership and collaboration for the role of Director of N&HS's Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience (CISR) Division. The person chosen for this position will report directly to INL's Associate Laboratory Director for N&HS. Our team works a 9x80 schedule at our Research and Education Campus in Idaho Falls with every other Friday off.

The CISR division director will be expected to provide strong leadership direction and personnel management for a division consisting of multiple departments and approximately 120 staff employees involved in innovative technical research and development to support Department of Energy, Department of Homeland Security, industry partners, and other sponsors. The CISR director also will be looked upon to develop strategy, manage the division's budget, respond to requests from INL's Senior Leadership Team, provide professional development opportunities for staff, and develop additional government and industry sponsors.

Responsibilities Include :

• Provide leadership for approximately 120 staff with a wide range of expertise, including power and electrical engineering, software development and modeling, energy integration, project / program management, and more.
• Develop and implement strategic plans and business strategies that result in significant growth of INL's role in the mission area.
• Collaborate seamlessly with division director peers within the N&HS Directorate and across the Laboratory.
• Perform all necessary personnel management activities within the division, including providing training and other professional development opportunities, establishing performance criteria, drafting performance appraisals, conducting salary reviews, and recommending promotions and other forms of pay increases for deserving employees.
• Hire new staff members that enhance INL's capabilities and contribute to the Laboratory's culture of research excellence and innovation.
• Oversee the successful execution of projects / programs while adhering to INL standards and procedures to identify and mitigate risk (cost, schedule, safety, security, environmental compliance, and quality).
• Expand and diversify the division's base of critical infrastructure security and resilience sponsors while maintaining relationships with current sponsors and developing partnerships with industry organizations, other laboratories, universities, and other stakeholders.
• Lead the division in growing and sustaining a culture that fosters mentorship, collaboration, and research excellence.
• Effectively and efficiently handle the division's indirect budgets (e.g., Organizational Management, Laboratory Directed Research and Development, and Program Development).
