Trade Compliance Lead
The Lead, Trade Compliance, will be responsible for Trade Compliance matters within the Tactical Communications (TCOM) Systems Sector of the Communication Systems (CS) segment. This role will support enforcement of trade compliance policies, processes, and procedures. The role will coordinate with the Licensing, Operations & Training, and Customs & Traffic Directorates to ensure the development and execution of compliant business solutions. This includes but is not limited to advising on the interpretation of USG trade laws / regulations for export approvals, training content, and requirements for the appropriate action and required documentation for the physical export and / or import of all commodities. This position must coordinate closely with other stakeholders in the pursuit of international sales opportunities. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Trade Compliance.
Essential Functions :
- Review and approve all DoS license applications for the business prior to submission
- Review and approve ITAR exemptions and EAR exceptions
- Coordinate with product management and technical trade to ensure the sector is providing the USG the necessary details related to our licensable products
- Manage and track all DoS license approvals
- Provide TC guidance to other team members and the business
- Provide recordkeeping of export licenses and provide budgetary numbers to accounting
- Author DSP-5 Tech Data Letters for electronic exports
- Review and approve all new consultants, distributors, representative agreements
- Participating in Insider Threat Program Panel
- Prepares, reviews, and manages export authorizations and records
- Strong sense of accountability and responsibility
- Support and maintain a collaborative, transparent and positive culture within both the TCOM sector.
- Keen judgment, discretion, and ability to maintain confidential information.
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and perform duties with minimum supervision or direction while remaining a team player
- Ability to obtain US Secret Security Clearance
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree with 9 years prior experience, Graduate Degree with 7 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.Minimum 5 years of experience with International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)Minimum 5 experience with U.S. trade sanctions program to include Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)Preferred Additional Skills :
