JOB DESCRIPTION

• Position reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• Selects transducer, and makes equipment adjustments according to nature of test, depth of field, and other specifications of test.
• Checks the physicians requisition for complete information on the procedure requested; refers any questions to the ultrasound physician before performing the procedure.
• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
• Troubleshoots, resolves, and / or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Recognizes the significance of all structures that are visualized on the monitor and be able to differential artifacts from anatomic / pathologic structures within equipment limitations.
