Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with mission, values, and service standards. Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice. Demonstrates skill in human relations and communications. Demonstrates clinical expertise in their area of responsibility. Expected to work in both pediatric and critical care settings as determined by patient volumes. Physical demands include standing and walking most of the duty time, lifting, and pushing patients on stretchers. Usually works in a clean, air-conditioned area. Physical requirements include pushing, pulling, gripping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling as needed.
