Lifeline Call-Taker (Part-Time, Overnight Shift)

We areseeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as 988Lifeline Call Takers. Beginning July 16, 2022, 988 will serve as a directthree-digit phone line available 24 / 7, 365 days a year, connecting people indistress with trained National Suicide Prevention Lifeline counselors. Thispart-time position, with overnight shifts and a rate of $20 / hr, involvesproviding free, confidential emotional support to individuals in crisis.Training will take place in the Framingham office, followed by a remote workarrangement. Applicants must be available for at least 2 shifts per week.

Responsibilities :

• Answer incoming calls from individuals facing mental health issues,crisis situations, suicidal thoughts, or other stressful circumstances
• Show extreme empathy towards callers while maintaining an impartialstance to provide effective support
• De-escalate callers with the assistance of the call site supervisorwhen necessary
• Be prepared to contact 911 on behalf of the caller in criticalsituations
