Description : The Physical Therapy Assistant will provide direct patient care in an acute hospital setting. This position involves assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of adults and geriatrics. The PTA will need to carry out QD treatments and manage patient transport to and from therapy sessions. Candidates must have familiarity with various rehabilitation techniques and adaptive devices. Experience with charting in an electronic medical record system is essential. The role will include working with patients suffering from a variety of conditions, including orthopedic, neurological, and cardiopulmonary diagnoses. Additional responsibilities include patient education, discharge planning, and collaboration with healthcare teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate effective communication, time management, and critical thinking skills. Flexibility to work occasional weekends is required. The role does not require on-call responsibilities or floating to other areas. Completion of specific charting and required skills prior to the start of employment is necessary.
