Senior Human Resources Generalist

Reporting to the Senior Human Resources Manager, the Senior Human Resources Generalist serves as a trusted partner to leadership and employees, providing hands-on HR support while ensuring compliance with federal contract requirements, company policies, and applicable employment laws. The position is part of the HR Advisor team supporting DCS employee owners and business operations. This hybrid role requires 23 days per week on-site at our Alexandria, VA office and occasional travel to support employees at field or customer locations.

Essential Job Functions :

• Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, employee engagement and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
• Collaborates with Operational and Resource leadership to develop and implement human capital planning initiatives that align with and support strategic business objectives.
• Handles employment-related inquiries from employees and managers, referring complex and / or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
• Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
• Handles special initiatives or projects as the business environment requires.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
