The patient population includes trauma patients, cardiovascular surgery patients, neurosurgery patients, and other complicated surgical cases. Candidates should have experience with acute ventilator needs, high oxygen demand patients, and severe sepsis. Responsibilities will include management of patients who require CRRT. The nurse will be responsible for blood product administration, patient care, and coordination with interdisciplinary teams. The nurse will manage patients recovering from open-heart surgery and those with multi-system organ failure. Ratios will be adjusted based on skill level and patient acuity. The role will require participation in weekend shifts every other week. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. Candidates may float within the facility to meet patient care needs. The facility is equipped with specialized devices for patient management. Interdisciplinary support will be available from various therapeutic services. The daily census is approximately 30 patients, with a total of 38 beds in the unit. Common diagnoses include acute ventilatory needs, COVID-19 positive patients, diabetic ketoacidosis, and trauma cases. The unit accommodates procedures such as chest tube insertions and in-room endoscopies.
