Job Title : Temp-to-Hire Insurance Follow-Up Specialist
Location : 100% Onsite in Oklahoma City, OK
Type : Temp-to-Hire (90 days)
Schedule : Monday – Friday (No Weekends)
Pay : $16–$17 per hour, with bonus potential upon conversion
Attendance Requirement : Must be able to complete all training with zero absences.
Position Summary :
We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Insurance Follow-Up Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing, setting up, and following up on insurance-related claims and billing issues while ensuring accurate documentation and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities :
- Review and set up new insurance claims for billing or liability referral.
- Validate coverage details and apply appropriate billing adjustments.
- Handle inbound calls from customers, insurers, and other contacts to determine the correct action on a claim (e.g., appending to an existing file, opening a new file, or referring to another department).
- Ensure timely and accurate billing processes.
- Receive, research, and respond to written correspondence regarding billing, collections, adjustments, or disputes.
- Meet or exceed assigned individual performance targets.
- Maintain claim and account aging within established guidelines.
- Demonstrate professionalism in all customer and stakeholder interactions.
- Maximize collection efforts while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- Resolve outstanding issues in a professional and timely manner with both internal and external contacts.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of all follow-up and collection activity.
- Develop a systematic approach to reviewing accounts and scheduling follow-up calls.
- Collaborate with customer service teams when addressing sensitive account issues.
- Escalate accounts with signs of financial instability as needed.
- Respond to all inquiries within 24 hours to maintain strong customer service standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
- Qualifications :
- Education : Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
- Experience : Previous experience in an office environment required; billing, insurance, or claims experience preferred.
- Technical Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stay organized and detail-oriented in a high-volume environment.
