Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

Location : Weston, WV 26452 (West Virginia nursing jobs)

Facility : Baby Friendly Designated Community Hospital

Position Type : Travel Registered Nurse (L&D RN)

Start Date : December 1, 2025

End Date : March 2, 2026

Assignment Length : 13 weeks

Shift : Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00 - 07 : 00)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1680 - $1730

On Call : Yes

Weekend / Holiday Coverage : Every other weekend and holidays required

Orientation : 16 hours (includes modules)

Labor & Delivery RN Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse experience

Active RN license in West Virginia or Compact State (pending license accepted)

Required Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NRP (all from American Heart Association)

Preferred : STABLE certification

First-time travel nurses welcome

Permanent address must be more than 100 miles from facility (75-100 miles considered case-by-case)

At least 2 Manager or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years

Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

Provide triage, labor & delivery, and postpartum / newborn care for mothers and infants

Assist with high-risk deliveries, vaginal births, Cesarean sections, and newborn assessments

Deliver discharge teaching to parents and support couplet care

Administer and monitor magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin (oxytocin), and IV infusions

Respond to obstetrical emergencies (HELLP syndrome, pre-eclampsia / eclampsia, diabetes mellitus)

Operate GE 250 Series Corometric Fetal Monitors, Baxter Spectrum IQ Infusion Pumps, and other clinical equipment

Collaborate with OB / GYNs, pediatricians, family practice physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Maintain accurate patient documentation and participate in antenatal testing and observation care
