Summary : Utilizes the principles of the nursing process to provide for continuity and quality of nursing care to the neonate and family unit. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to the neonate that is consistent with the philosophy, goals, policies and procedures of the Nursing Department and Hospital.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS :

Education : Requires two (2) years of college. General knowledge of a specialized or technical field normally associated with an A.A. or A.S. degree.

Experience : Minimum of 3 yr NICU Experience.

License : Have a current license issued by New York State to practice as a registered nurse.

Certification : NRP required.

Working Conditions :

Manual : Little or no manual skills / motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational : Little or no potential for occupational risk

Physical Effort : Sedentary / light effort. May exert up to 10 lbs. force

Physical Environment : Generally pleasant working conditions
