Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with a minimum of 3 years' experience in adult acute care at a Level I trauma, Magnet acute care hospital.
Responsibilities
Work in an acute care hospital in an adult echo / cardiac sonography unitLevel I trauma center and Magnet hospitalDay shifts are four 10-hour shifts from 7 : 30 AM to 6 : 00 PMOn-call required 4-5 days per 6-week schedule, with at least one weekend day of call per periodNo floating within or outside the hospital requiredHandles adult acute care, adult outpatient, ER, and ICU populationsProcedures include 3-D Echo, bubble studies, imaging with contrast agents, M-Mode, pharmacologic and treadmill stress echos, portable studies, and routine echo examsPhilips imaging equipment preferredUses Cerner for chartingPerforms a broad range of echocardiography procedures for adult patients across acute and critical care settingsCollaborates with a multidisciplinary team and participates in clinical best practices at a major trauma hospitalParking permit required with no cost, paperwork completed at orientationAny solid color scrubs may be wornMust complete required health and compliance documentation, modules, and orientation processesMust work 2 out of 3 major holidays if assignment overlapsIdeally no more than 5 days off (RTO) per assignment; more requires facility approvalPrior perm or PRN employees of the facility must have a 12-month gap before considerationLocals accepted with no radius restrictionsModules are completed virtually on the first day of assignmentRequirements
Minimum of 3 years' experience as an Echo Tech / Cardiac SonographerRequired experience in adult acute care, adult outpatient, ER, and ICU settingsCurrent ARDMS or CCI certification preferredIL state license in hand required if applicableExperience with 3-D Echo, bubble study, imaging with contrast, M-Mode, pharmacologic and treadmill stress echo, and portable studies requiredIsolation precaution skills requiredCerner experience preferredFirst-time travelers consideredPending license accepted if requirements metBenefits
