Job Summary
The Commercial Lender I is responsible for developing, analyzing, and servicing small to medium-sized commercial loans and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective business clients. This role involves managing a portfolio of commercial loans, ensuring compliance with banking regulations, and identifying new business opportunities to grow the bank’s commercial portfolio.
Essential Functions
Develop and manage a small to medium commercial loan portfolio.
Monitor and manage existing credit relationships, including renewals, delinquency reporting, and covenant monitoring.
Ensure compliance with loan documentation, asset quality, and regulatory standards.
Grow the loan portfolio through business development and deepening relationships with existing commercial clients.
Handle consumer loan needs for business owners and mid-level managers of small businesses.
Analyze and evaluate credit requests, prepare loan presentations, and present to the Senior or Executive Loan Committee as appropriate.
Serve as a Loan Committee member, participating in approval or decline recommendations per bank policy.
Develop and maintain business relationships through officer call programs and community involvement.
Represent the bank in community and professional events to enhance visibility and strengthen relationships.
Provide oversight, compliance, and training on specific banking regulations as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of one year of banking experience.
At least six months of experience with commercial credit (SBA, Commercial, or Credit Analyst roles preferred).
Basic understanding of credit underwriting, loan policy, and banking regulations.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance; or five years of equivalent work experience.
Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe products
