Position Overview

The Facilities Manager is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring all safety and compliance requirements of the facility are met. This role also supports the upkeep and general cleanliness of the building to provide a safe and efficient work environment. In addition, the Facilities Manager will operate within the parameters of the Quality Management (QM) System, contributing to Variosystems’ overall quality initiatives and supporting company-specific growth goals.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Maintenance / Facilities

Work with purchasing to ensure production is provided with consumables.

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and make repairs as needed.
  • Ensure renovations comply with city and county building codes & standards.
  • Identify waste streams and implement appropriate disposal.
  • Maintain general cleanliness of buildings.
  • Act as primary interface with all service providers and contractors involved in building maintenance and grounds keeping.
  • Validate all invoices from contractors providing building or landscape services.
  • Coordinate work assignments and schedules of the full- and part-time cleaning crew.
  • Maintain the motor pool
  • Coordinate all pickup and deliveries and assign personnel.
  • Maintain detailed records of payments, contracts, equipment maintenance, and facility expenses.
  • Supervise daily activities related to maintenance, cleaning, security, and groundskeeping.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Safety
  • Arrange training as required by OSHA & other applicable H&S laws.

  • Regularly inspect building for compliance with state and federal Health & Safety laws.
  • Regularly inspect building for overall general safety.
  • Maintain MSDS binder
  • Maintain material traceability as required.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 5+ years of Facility Management experience
  • Understanding of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing, to effectively manage repairs and maintenance
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written
  • Associates degree and / or professional certification preferred
