About The Position

Job Title : Mammography Technologist

Profession : Radiology / Cardiology

Specialty : Mammography Tech

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day 5x8-Hour

Hours per Shift : 8 : 30 AM - 5 : 00 PM

Experience : 1 year of experience; 2 years of full-time mammography experience strongly preferred

License : Active WA license required

Certifications : BLS, ARRT

Must-Have : Proficiency in diagnostic and screening mammograms; ability to float to other campuses

Description :

Perm candidates from any other facility are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months.

First-time travelers are accepted.

Candidates need to have experience in diagnostic and screening mammograms.

Active WA license is required for submission.

Candidates must be open to floating to other campuses.

The role involves performing a variety of radiological technical procedures specific to the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in a high-volume outpatient setting.

The technologist is responsible for producing high-quality radiographic images and interacting with all patients in a caring and comforting manner.

The role includes performing required quality control activities as mandated by applicable regulations.

Proficient skills include 3-D mammography, diagnostic mammograms, fine needle aspirations, needle localizations, screening mammograms, and stereotactic biopsy.

Candidates should have the ability to produce high-quality diagnostic mammographic images accurately.

Working knowledge of breast anatomy, proper radiographic exposure factors, and procedures for mandated quality control activities is necessary.

Candidates should be familiar with a variety of x-ray equipment and associated applications specifically related to mammography and processing units.

The position requires interaction with a diverse patient age group, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

There is a mandatory observation period where all technologists new to the department must have 25 exams observed by another technologist before working independently.
