Travel Nurse Job Details
Location : Wilmington, NC 28401 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
Assignment Type : Travel RN Contract
Unit : Medical / Surgical with Oncology focus (MS / Onc)
Start Date : November 3, 2025
End Date : February 2, 2026
Duration : 13 weeks (extensions possible)
Shift : 12-hour nights (18 : 45 – 07 : 15)
Hours per Week : 36
Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend
Patient Ratio : 1 : 6 (may flex during high census)
Orientation : 24 hours (2 shifts)
Scrubs : Navy Blue and White
Estimated Weekly Pay : $1590 - $1700
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or Compact State (required at start)
Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient Med / Surg RN experience
BLS certification (American Heart Association)
Clinical skills : colostomy care, port access, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, heparin and insulin administration, surgical drains, chest tubes, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions, wound care / wound vac
Ability to float to similar units and alternate care locations as needed
Must pass EKG testing prior to start
Willingness to serve as part of a Storm / Hurricane Team during emergencies
First-time travel nurses welcome!
Preferred : CPI certification, charge nurse experience, OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification
Registered Nurse Responsibilities
Provide high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical and oncology patients
Administer chemotherapy / biotherapy (IV, PO, or injection) as needed (facility will provide training if required)
Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses such as AKI, sepsis, cancer, diabetic foot ulcers, and more
Perform and document patient assessments, interventions, and evaluations using EPIC and SBAR
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and others
Float to similar units or alternate care locations (e.g., inpatient holding in the Emergency Department) as required
Participate in monthly staff meetings and ongoing clinical training
Follow all infection control, safety, and regulatory healthcare policies
Be available to work during catastrophic events or disasters as part of the Storm Team
