Travel Nursing Job Details

Location : Plattsburgh, NY 12901 (New York healthcare job)

Unit : R4 Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Cardiac Stepdown

Assignment Duration : 4 weeks (Start : 11 / 17 / 2025 – End : 12 / 15 / 2025)

Shift : 12-hour night shifts

Hours per Week : 36

Employment Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN) position

Weekend / Holiday Requirements : Every other weekend; 2 out of 3 major holidays

Floating : Required to float to appropriate units as part of the Resource Float team

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $2100-$2250

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (New York RN license preferred for local candidates)

Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in cardiac stepdown, progressive care, or telemetry nursing

At least 1 year of telemetry (tele) experience required

Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications

NIHSS certification (required prior to start)

EPIC documentation experience within the past 2 years (required)

Ability to float to other hospital units as needed

Reliable transportation required (public transportation is not accessible in this area)

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with cardiac and progressive care needs in a PCU setting

Monitor and manage patients with acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, post-cardiac catheterization, and other cardiac diagnoses

Administer and titrate cardiac drips, insulin drips, and IV therapies

Perform EKGs, start IVs, and assist with post-procedural care for cardiac patients

Document patient care using EPIC and manage medications via MAK system

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy and anesthesia support

Participate in the Resource Float team and provide nursing coverage to appropriate units as needed

Adhere to facility dress code : navy blue or white scrubs, closed-toe nonskid shoes, minimal jewelry, and professional grooming
