Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : RN Specialty : Cardiac Med / Surg Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 hours Experience : Minimum three (3) years applicable experience License : State RN license in good standing Certifications : BLS (American Heart Association) Must-Have : - Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English. - Basic computer knowledge using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser. - Multicultural sensitivity. - Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions. Description : As a member of the interdisciplinary team, you will contribute professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients through the application of the nursing process. You will promote the use of evidence-based practice through the nursing process, protocols, and procedures. Your role will include assessing patients' status through interview, observation, and physical assessment of actual problems and outcomes. You will develop an individualized plan of care using a collaborative approach with the patient, family, and healthcare team. You will use appropriate interventions identified in the plan of care to achieve expected patient outcomes. You will systematically evaluate and document patients' progress toward expected outcomes and goals on an ongoing basis throughout the shift. You will modify the plan of care based on evaluation and complete required documentation as appropriate, including patient chart and event reports. You will demonstrate professional accountability for your own practice by seeking resources and continuing self-development. You will demonstrate technical knowledge of equipment and troubleshoot when problems arise. You will acquire and maintain current knowledge and skills in evidence-based nursing practice. You will promote the professional development of yourself and team members. You will share clinical knowledge through normal teaching and in response to the learning needs of others. You will demonstrate a practical problem-solving approach to patient moving and handling issues, as applicable. You will perform patient bedside lab testing and associated quality control in compliance with medical provider's orders and hospital lab procedures and policies. You will coordinate the interdisciplinary care of the patient through collaboration with team members and utilize additional resources when necessary. You will analyze clinical situations in a systematic way and act to obtain resources or correct problems to meet or exceed expected outcomes or patient needs. You will recognize the need for assistance and utilize resources, including consultation, in a timely manner. You will demonstrate ownership and persistence to ensure problems are resolved in the best way possible. You will be able to assume the assignment of non-complex and some complex patient management with some turnover in assignment. You will consistently prioritize your work based on changes in patient condition, changes in assignment, and unanticipated interruptions.
