Position Highlights

  • Full-time night shift, 12-hour shifts (paid for 40 hours)
  • Rotating weekends and holidays
  • No call requirement
  • Adult-Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) required
  • 2+ years of Critical Care ICU experience as an RN, NP, or PA required
  • Cardiology and Heart Failure population experience preferred
  • Training provided on mechanical support devices

    • Patient Population Includes

  • Heart Failure
  • Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS)
  • VV / VA ECMO
  • LVAD
  • Heart and Lung Transplant
  • Post-Operative Cardiac Surgery

    • Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with complex cardiac conditions
  • Deliver evidence-based clinical decisions in collaboration with a multidisciplinary care team
  • Manage patient care throughout the disease process in alignment with the Texas Nurse Practice Act and hospital Standards of Care
  • Participate in continuous learning and professional development initiatives

    • Required Qualifications

  • Current Texas RN and APRN licensure
  • Adult-Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) certification
  • National certification from ANCC, NCC, AANP, or AACN
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Minimum two (2) years of critical care nursing experience (RN or NP) in Cardiology, Cardiac Care, or Cardiovascular Nursing

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Heart Failure or Cardiovascular ICU patients
  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner experience
  • Background in managing advanced cardiac support devices
