Technical Product Manager

Pearson is seeking a Technical Product Manager to lead the design, development, and innovation of one or more platforms within the School Assessments next-generation product ecosystem. This position reports to the Head, Data and Reporting Technology.
What you will do :
You will bring clarity of vision and forward-thinking product ideas to get our engineering teams excited.
You will create strong alliances with diverse stakeholders, communicating in appropriate ways to gather requirements and communicate necessary responses, solutions and timelines.
You will collaborate with other product managers and development teams, since much of what we do cuts across multiple platforms.
You will constantly weigh the relative priority of each incoming problem to ensure the team is focused and making progress on the right work.
Your essential problem-solving, collaboration and communication skills will be utilized daily to identify problems, find and present potential solutions, and then translate solutions into requirements for the engineering team to execute.
You will map out, communicate and manage the product release schedule, in coordination with customer needs and development team readiness. With each release, you will provide release documentation and product information sufficient to support project teams with client implementations and support.
You'll start each day with a scrum, working with a team of 2-5 developers, a QA analyst, a UX designer, and yourself. In your daily scrum, you will support the team in successfully delivering your story requirements.
Although you don't need to code in this role, you must know how to communicate with engineers and other technologists giving them confidence you understand their challenges. Our best product managers can translate easily between technical and non-technical teams, so both parties are clearly understood.
To succeed in this role :
You have a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent
You have a deep understanding of technology, in order to communicate with cross-functional team members
You have experience working in JIRA, Confluence and SharePoint for planning, documentation and tracking
You have a proven track record of thriving in a fast-paced software development team, and / or 8+ years in the education technology space
You have a solid background in stakeholder management and basic agile methodology

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York State, New York City, Vermont, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows :
The full-time salary range for this position is between $125,000 - $140,000
