Job Description :

L3Harris has an immediate opening for a Software Group Lead to support engineering development efforts on satellite ground systems based on our industry leading InControl satellite control software and OnTime planning and scheduling software products. In this position, As part of our team, you will be responsible for helping to develop ground system command and control and mission planning capabilities.

As a technical and team leader of the staff, the successful candidate will demonstrate initiative in the efficient development of complex satellite ground system software development throughout the product lifecycle. Additionally, this person will be comfortable working in geographically distributed development teams. The successful candidate will be expected to possess a thorough understanding of technical challenges including both the development methods as well as enforcing organizational behaviors to ensure quality.

Essential Functions :

Meets functional leadership requirements of staffing, training, talent development, engagement, retention and overall management of a software engineering team. Stay updated on industry tools, best practices, and procedures.

Manage customer relationships to support customer retention and drive growth.

Understanding of mission requirements for satellite ground systems. Utilize strong technical skillset, able to contribute to requirements analysis, design, code and unit test, integration and test, requirements sell off, and operations and maintenance of satellite ground systems.

Coordinate software team support for quotes and proposals, including technical solution, requirements compliance, labor estimates, material estimates, subcontract estimates, and schedules. Collaborate with customers to define needs, develop solutions, and address issues. C reate and articulate software architectures and solutions to meet customer needs.

Proven track record of leading Agile software development teams. Manage Agile software development projects through the engineering process reviews and process gates. Develop and analyze metrics to track project progress and reduce variances. Assesses engineering issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives. Identify, track, mitigate, manage, and disposition risks and opportunities.

Expertise in designing and reverse engineering complex software systems.

Experience designing and implementing cloud native solutions, and migrating solutions to the cloud. Experience with Amazon AWS and / or Microsoft Azure.

Drive technological growth by proposing integration of new technologies. Support roadmap development.

Experience with DevSecOps and tools like Maven and Nexus.

Strong communiccation skills. Communicate with leadership on status, issues, milestones, and successes.

U.S. citizenship and willing to obtain Top Secret Government Clearance.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree with a minimum 9 years software experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of software experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of software experience.

Experience as software lead on a significant program including design, code, unit test, requirements.

Significant experience interacting with customers with post-delivery support.

Minimum of 5 years of software development experience with Java, JavaScript, and Python.

Minimum of 5 years of software development experience with C++.

Preferred Additional Skills :

Active TS / SCI Clearance

Experience with embedded system design and development

Experience with design, development and operation of complex spacecraft ground systems.

In compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $132,000 - $245,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
