Travel Nurse RN - Med / Surg / Telemetry - $1,942 per week in Brownwood, TX

Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : Medical / Surgical Telemetry Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Shift Hours per Shift : 12 hours Experience : Minimum 2 years in relevant specialty License : Current nursing license required Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have : - Previous charge experience - Patient ratio experience of 5-6 - Charting system experience Description : The position requires a Medical / Surgical Telemetry RN. Local candidates greater than 50 miles may be considered. Candidates must have experience with accessing and managing ports and blood product administration. Candidates will manage cardiac telemetry and central line care. Experience with CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) and high flow nasal cannula is necessary. Candidates will need to interpret arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias. Candidates must manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration. Experience with post-cardiac angiogram and pre / post cardiac cath responsibilities is required. Candidates will care for patients with renal failure and perform wound care. Knowledge of isolation precautions and feeding tube care is required. Candidates should have experience in telemetry monitoring and managing IVs. The patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily census is approximately 35 patients with 38 beds available. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Candidates are expected to work weekends with a total of 6 weekend shifts per schedule.
