Position Overview :
The Health & Safety Director will oversee all aspects of workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and employee health initiatives for our operations. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing proactive safety programs that meet or exceed OSHA and FDA standards within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs across the facility.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, FDA, and local regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Oversee incident investigations and develop corrective action plans.
- Train and mentor employees and management on safety policies and best practices.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to integrate safety into all operations.
- Maintain required documentation and reporting for federal, state, and internal requirements.
- Serve as the company’s primary contact for all safety-related regulatory agencies.
- Track incident metrics and apply findings.
- schedule Hexavalent chromium facility testing.
- Monitor all plants TYCO fire alarm system in case of fire equipment related issues 24 / 7. (Heat strobes, smoke detectors, pull stations)
- Responsible for monthly fire extinguisher inspections, training and invoices.
Qualifications :
Required : Previous experience holding a Safety Director (or equivalent leadership) title in a manufacturing or industrial setting.Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and food industry safety standards.Proven leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Willingness to relocate to Effingham, SC (relocation assistance available).Bilingual (English / Spanish) candidates are highly preferredWhy join McCall Farms?
