A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a mid-to-senior level attorney to join its Mergers & Acquisitions Clearance Team. This position focuses on regulatory antitrust compliance, particularly related to the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act (HSR Act) and international merger control processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in antitrust or competition law with a focus on M&A clearance, and an interest in supporting private equity and corporate clients through complex regulatory filings and analyses.
Location
Duties
Assess HSR reportability and oversee preparation of HSR filings
Coordinate with clients, corporate teams, and opposing counsel to manage filing logistics
Support compliance with international merger control in coordination with European colleagues
Provide antitrust counsel related to M&A transactions, including private equity deals
Assist with Second Request responses and general competitor transaction analysis
Collaborate with other team members and antitrust partners to ensure compliance and strategic support
Engage in regulatory counseling, not litigation
Requirements
3–9 years of experience in antitrust / competition law with a focus on M&A clearance
Experience with HSR Act compliance, filings, and related regulatory processes
Background in regulatory or corporate M&A work, or private equity-related transactions (preferred)
Strong command of regulatory antitrust frameworks in both U.S. and global contexts
Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school
Certifications
Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
Eligibility for admission in applicable jurisdiction, if not already admitted
Skills
Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills
Meticulous attention to detail in regulatory and transactional matters
Ability to manage multiple filings and workstreams on tight deadlines
Strong collaboration and organizational skills
Interest and ability to quickly gain expertise in complex merger control regimes
