USGP is seeking a skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team in providing exceptional care and service to our nations military service members, veterans, and their families. - Outpatient : SunSat, 05002200 (812 hour shifts with a 60-minute lunch)
- Inpatient : SunSat, 00012400 (812 hour shifts with a 60-minute lunch)
Qualifications
Education :Graduate of an ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Technician program ORGraduate of a technical, hospital, or retail-based pharmacy technician programCertification :Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or a military training programPTCB Certification required (CHPT accepted with possible waiver consideration)Experience : Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy technician experience after program completionLicensure / Registration : Not requiredPrimary Responsibilities
Review and process prescriptions, including controlled substances, per pharmacy formulary standardsEvaluate patient responses to prescription and non-prescription medications following established protocolsCollaborate with prescribers to resolve dosing, interaction, or instruction discrepanciesPrepare replenishment orders, receive and verify stock, and rotate inventory for both controlled and non-controlled substancesAdjust stock levels based on demand and seasonal trendsEnter and verify medication orders in an electronic healthcare system; identify allergies, interactions, and duplicate therapiesConduct quality checks on prepared products to ensure accuracy, labeling, and presentationOperate and maintain pharmacy equipment including PYXIS machines and point-of-use medication cabinetsAssist and train other staff members in proper use of specialized instrumentsWhy Join USGP?
