About the Role :

As a Child Life Specialist, you will play a crucial role in planning and implementing Child Life programs that address the psychological, emotional, and developmental needs of pediatric patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities :

• Coordinate and supervise special events for inpatient pediatric areas.
• Collaborate with marketing and public relations for media activities and donor engagement.
• Develop strategies to alleviate children's fear and anxiety related to healthcare.
• Prepare patients and families for medical procedures using therapeutic play as a tool.
• Assess children's developmental stages and emotional states to tailor interventions.
• Identify and implement effective coping strategies for patients and families.
• Provide specialized services to meet the unique needs of each child.
• Consult with healthcare team members on developmental and behavioral needs.
• Maintain accurate records of Child Life services provided.
• Manage budget and resources relevant to the Child Life department's goals.
• Offer Child Life consultations for children visiting hospitalized patients.

Qualifications :

Physical Requirements :

This position requires the ability to lift and carry 40-50 lbs, perform numerous activities while standing or walking for extended periods, and execute physical tasks pertinent to patient care such as bending and squatting.
