MRI, CT, X-Ray (Multimodality Technologist)

Shift : Monday - Friday (11 AM to 7 : 30 PM)
Essential Job Functions
- Perform complex and specialized tasks associated with the operation of MRI, CT, and X-Ray equipment in accordance with radiologist protocols.
- Position patients accurately for all exams, utilizing immobilization and protective equipment as appropriate.
- Adhere to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and visitors.
- Explain diagnostic procedures and provide education to patients prior to imaging.
- Prepare exam rooms, tables, and equipment for patient use, ensuring proper sanitation and readiness.
- Apply all MRI safety measures and protocols for staff, patients, and visitors within MRI Zones 1-4.
- Select appropriate software options and imaging parameters for each procedure.
- Screen all patients for MRI safety prior to exams, consulting with the radiologist as necessary.
- Assist radiologists with imaging procedures, including starting IV lines and administering contrast media, when applicable.
- Evaluate all images for technical quality; adjust window / level settings, label accurately, and transmit images to PACS.
- Schedule patient procedures and assist with related clerical tasks, including exam billing.
- Load and operate power injectors for contrast media administration.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
- Communicate effectively within the healthcare team, respond to requests promptly, and participate in collaborative problem solving.
- Provide compassionate care, addressing both the physical and psychological needs of patients.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Education, Experience, Licenses, and Certifications
Completion of a 24-month AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology program.ARRT certification in Radiography required.Completion of an accredited MRI and CT program within six (6) months of employment, or attainment of MRI and CT certifications within the same timeframe.IV certification required or to be obtained within the designated orientation period.BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required and must be maintained in active status throughout employment.Prior experience in a multimodality imaging environment (MRI, CT, and X-Ray) preferred.Performance Evaluation Criteria
Knowledge
1. Comprehensive understanding of medical imaging technologies, including multiple modalities.
2. Familiarity with medical terminology.
3. Knowledge of MRI Zones 1-IV and associated safety protocols.
4. Strong understanding of MRI safety, contraindications, and contrast administration guidelines.
5. Proficiency in operating MRI, CT, and X-Ray equipment.
6. Solid grasp of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology as visualized in CT and MRI.
7. Knowledge of outpatient imaging protocols and policies.
Skills
1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
2. Sensitivity to patients' physical and psychological needs.
3. Accurate charting and data reporting abilities.
4. IV certification and competency in venipuncture.

1. Ability to interpret and follow physician instructions accurately.
