The main duties include helping patients perform exercises or treatment plans. This role also involves recording patients' health progress and collecting their medical history or other personal information. Occupational Therapy Assistants are responsible for treating patients with therapeutic and self-care activities. Candidates must perform a variety of duties, including monitoring a patient’s progress to ensure successful treatment completion. Encouraging the patient during their recovery process is a key responsibility. Helping patients improve their quality of life by finding solutions to their problems is essential. Injury recovery includes assisting injured employees in improving their motor skills with the goal of re-entering the workforce. Teaching patients with disabilities to become more independent is also a crucial aspect of the role. Updating patient records for the Occupational Therapist is required. Maintaining the office, treatment room, and equipment in good order is part of the job. Teaching patients, family members, or other caregivers skills and techniques to aid in the patients' treatment program is important to ensure effective care.
