Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and professional Sales Associate to join an award-winning team. This role offers the opportunity to work with quality new boats, serve customers, and be part of a respected family business that maintains the highest standards in the industry. Key Responsibilities
Sales Process Excellence
- Execute the complete 5-step sales process : meet / greet, qualify, feature / benefit presentation, write-up, and delivery
- Greet all walk-in customers and handle phone inquiries with immediate attention and professionalism, respond to internet leads within 2 hours of receipt
- Identify buyer types (trade, price, payment, or price difference) to effectively work deals
- Work all deals through sales management to ensure maximum profit and customer satisfaction
- Understand of the used boat market for completing comprehensive valuations, and marketing
Customer Relationship Management
Build lasting relationships throughout the customer's boating journeyMaintain comprehensive prospect management system with thorough follow-up until purchase or market exitEnter all prospects into lead management system daily with thank-you communicationsConduct post-delivery follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction, repeat business, and referralsMaintain Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) goals as established by managementProduct Knowledge & Operations
Become an avid boater with in-depth knowledge of the boating industryMaster new boat product lines, options and understand competitive landscapeConduct safe boat demonstrations following Coast Guard guidelinesComplete delivery inspections, rigging verification, and registration processesTeam Collaboration
Maintain neat, organized workstation and professional appearanceAttend all sales meetings and training sessionsPromote teamwork across all dealership departmentsAssist with showroom displays and promotional materialsParticipate in boat shows and off-site events throughout the yearRequired Qualifications
Previous sales experience, preferably in marine boat salesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong work ethic and self-motivated approachAbility to work flexible hours including weekends and boat show eventsComputer proficiency with CRM and lead management systemsValid driver's license and clean driving recordDesired Qualities
Genuine passion for boating and the marine lifestylePrevious boating experience and knowledge of Chesapeake BayProven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targetsCommitment to continuous learning and professional developmentDetail-oriented with strong organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, seasonal business environmentEnthusiasm for building long-term customer relationshipsBenefits
