Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU Float position requiring comfort in all PCU and Med-Surg units, with BLS and ACLS certifications.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a hospital-based Resource Pool covering all Progressive Care and Med-Surg units
  • May float to Inpatient Rehab as needed
  • Assigned patient ratios are 5 : 1 for PCU and 6-7 : 1 for Med-Surg
  • Shifts are 12-hour nights (6 : 45 PM - 7 : 15 AM), with an option for 3 or 4 shifts per week
  • Staffing office may reassign float nurses to different units every 4 hours based on hospital needs
  • Epic EMR experience is required
  • Will be assigned to work at least one holiday per 13-week assignment, except during winter holidays when two are required
  • Must submit all requested time off with initial application; Christmas time off cannot be approved
  • Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted, with exceptions for those 50-99.9 miles away who may be eligible for one 13-week assignment without extension
  • Previous employees must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler; after 365 days of assignment, not eligible to return
  • Orientation modules are provided, including up to 5 hours for general modules and 2 hours for Epic
  • First-day orientation schedule includes both general and Epic modules

  • Active or compact RN license for VA is required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required
  • Must have experience working comfortably on all PCU and Med-Surg units
  • Epic EMR experience is required
  • Must provide two professional references for consideration
