The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by :

• Leading and managing Plant Engineering, Maintenance, Utilities, and Facilities functions to ensure uninterrupted operations and compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Managing process engineering for the facility, including process improvement, process documentation, and process controls.
• Direct responsibility for functional strategic planning, including establishing and managing budgets for one or more departments in the immediate organization or the next higher organizational tier. Approves assigned programs and budget deviations as well as overall resources to meet business objectives.
• Determining priorities, timetables, and assigning resources / tasks. Accountable for the activities and results of their functional area.
• Providing direct supervision to higher level professionals and lower-level managers, which includes objective setting, performance management, and motivating, as well as training and coaching.
• Creating solutions for complex and multi-faceted problems, which requires ingenuity, creativity, innovation, and strong analytical skills.
• Utilizing resources across work areas, departments, and businesses to create solutions.
• Supervising installation, commissioning, and maintenance of production and utility equipment to support production targets.
• Responsible for establishing and enforcing multiple concepts relative to the function. Working tasks might include : Developing manufacturing strategies in conjunction with fellow business leaders to ensure achievement of business objectives. Adjusting manufacturing strategies to meet changing market conditions for a medium to large sized manufacturing operation. Implementing manufacturing standards and defining guidelines for assigned manufacturing disciplines such as engineering, production, quality, etc.
• Forecasting facility and manpower requirements, typically for one manufacturing site.
• Assuring plant equipment and processes have adequate capabilities to meet business and technology needs for production.
• Coordinating operating activities so that approved products are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives.
• Ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity of production facility through just-in-time concepts and / or other cost reduction methodologies.
• Actively participating in relevant corporate programs / initiatives, complies with professional and quality standards, complies with corporate policies and procedures, and acts in a manner consistent with 3M's values and ethical standards.

Applicable to US Applicants Only : The expected compensation range for this position is $188,251 - $230,084, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
