BestSelf Behavioral Health offers several community and mobile services that encompass compassionate patient-centered mental health and medication therapy for a wide range of mental health challenges. Our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams offer fully mobile community-based mental health services, with a focus on intensive care, crisis support, and outreach, using a multi-disciplinary approach. PROS (Personalized Recovery Oriented Services) empowers individuals to gain a better understanding of their mental health issues and develop coping skills to facilitate their recovery. It offers a variety of classes, counseling, medical treatment, and life skills training.

Programs Available :

OnTrack (430 Niagara Street, Buffalo, NY) - OnTrack is a Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) treatment program serving adolescents and young adults who are within two years of experiencing the onset of psychosis. Our mission is to provide individualized care to keep young people on track with their goals for school, work and personal relationships. The team has the opportunity for creative and flexible engagement in the office and in the community, establishing collaborative relationships and creating new resources to support young people and families. Equity, inclusion, rapid access and self-determination are at the core of everything we do. Looking for a full time licensed Counselor.

ACT Renew, ACT Aspire (768 Delaware Ave, Buffalo, NY) and ACT Strive (90 E 4th St, Dunkirk, NY) - ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) is a program designed to deliver comprehensive and effective services to individuals who are diagnosed with SPMI and whose needs have not been well met by more traditional service delivery approaches. The nature and intensity of ACT services are developed through the person-centered service planning process and adjusted through the process of daily team meetings. The ACT Aspire team and ACT Renew team both serve ages 18+ in Erie County. The ACT Strive team serves 18+ in Chautauqua County. Full time Counselor, licensed preferred.

A Counselor at BestSelf Behavioral Health works directly with individuals facing various mental health, substance use, or co-occurring challenges, employing evidence-based & trauma informed care practices. The Counselor will provide individual and group therapy, support services for families, and crisis counseling. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to perform comprehensive assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, discharges, and appropriate client referrals.

In times of crisis, Counselors respond promptly and expertly, developing safety plans to ensure clients' well-being. Counselors will also embrace a harm reduction model to promote healthier choices and behaviors, fostering recovery, and growth. If you meet the following criteria, apply today!

• Minimum Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or CASAC-T / CASAC-P required.
• Professional licensure : LMSW, LMFT, MHC-P, CASAC, CRC, LMHC, LCSW preferred.
• Must have knowledge of a variety of common intervention techniques, common mental health diagnoses, substance use interventions and resources.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be familiar with community resources to be able to appropriately link clients.
• Minimum proficiency with Windows based software applications is required.
• Must have experience with Electronic Medical Records databases and basic computer skills.
• Must appreciate cultural diversity and be aware of cross cultural counseling issues.
• Valid Drivers License, vehicle in working condition (with valid inspection, registration, and insurance), ability to travel between sites, & Defensive Driving Course (only applicable for some of our community & mobile programs).
