Accounting Manager Plant Operations
As the Accounting Manager Plant Operations, you will oversee financial closing and reporting activities across North America's manufacturing operations. This role includes managing accounting functions and inventory costing accuracy for tire, allied, and chemical plants, ensuring timely financial statement preparation and strong internal controls. You'll collaborate with the NA Manufacturing Finance Leadership team to drive strategic financial goals and develop team capabilities. Additionally, you'll lead and mentor a team of associates, guiding project execution and presenting cost-benefit analyses to senior management.
What You'll Do
- Oversee NA Manufacturing accounting close and reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial information for internal stakeholders.
- Deliver in-depth financial analysis for Goodyear / NA management, including monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and account reconciliations.
- Ensure business process controls are documented, tested, and compliant with US GAAP and company policies.
- Drive improvements in inventory costing efficiency and accuracy, while monitoring construction work in progress (CWIP).
- Develop and mentor associates through knowledge transfer, succession planning, and performance feedback.
- Align performance management with business metrics, linking individual goals to compensation and career growth.
- Advise on new manufacturing processes and assess financial impacts, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal standards.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and / or Finance.8+ years of experience in an Accounting or Analysis position, with 3+ of those years working in a lead / management role.Proven controllership experience within a manufacturing environment.Demonstrated success in building and developing high-performing finance teams, with a track record of talent advancement.Skilled in leading change management initiatives and driving adoption of new processes and techniques.What Will Set You Apart
Solid understanding of the product value chain and overall organizational structure.Proficient in NA Financial Operations IT systems and processes, including SAP / R3, XPLOR, GBMS, and legacy platforms.Strong knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, with a focus on internal controls.Clear verbal and written communication across teams and stakeholders.Goodyear is one of the world's largest tire companies.
