Travel Nursing Job Details

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Stepdown

Location : Portland, Maine (04102) – New England healthcare jobs

Facility : IMC Unit, 22 Bramhall St

Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 30 / 2025 – End : 2 / 28 / 2026)

Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00PM – 7 : 30AM)

Hours per Week : 36 (guaranteed)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1990–$2130

Unit Size : 12-bed IMC (total 36 beds on R9)

Patient Ratios : 1 : 3 for IMC; may float to med-surg (ratios 1 : 4-6)

EMR : Epic

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (Maine or compact state)

Minimum 2 years of recent Intermediate Care (IMC) or cardiac stepdown nursing experience

At least one prior travel nursing assignment at med-surg level or higher

BLS certification (required)

Completion of mandatory onboarding education modules

Strong teamwork, flexibility, accountability, and communication skills

Patient-centered care approach and positive attitude

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown and IMC patients

Monitor and manage patients with respiratory issues, medical telemetry, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, and other acute conditions

Utilize advanced clinical equipment including telemetry, BIPAP, Hi-Flow O2, and insulin drips

Float to similar IMC or lower acuity units as needed

Maintain accurate patient documentation using Epic EMR

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Adhere to facility policies, dress code (scrub color : any), and professional nursing standards
